The Pretenders Live in Conert

The rock ‘n’ roll band The Pretenders are heading to New Zealand! They are playing at the St James Theatre in Auckland on the 6th of February.

Groove in the Park 07

Groove in the Park

Groove in the Park is one of Waitangi Days (6th feb) best celebration. The concert starts at 12pm, and this year it has relocated to Western Springs Stadium.
The line up this year inculdes international DJ Roger Sanchez (USA), Concord Dawn, State of Mind, Tim Phin, Shapeshifter and more!

There is a $10 gate charge and children under 15 get in free.

Regatta on Auckland Anniversary Day

Auckland regatta

On Auckland anniversary day (29th January), the Waitemata will come alive as there will be over a dozen vintage tugboats and workboats will begin this eventful day.

There will be a range of fun filled activities the whole family will enjoy in the Viaduct Harbour and a living history on display.

You can also catch the excitement of the race from vantage points at North Head, Bastion Point, Orakei Wharf, Tamaki Drive and the East Coast Bays.

Cirque Du Soleil- Varekai, now showing in Auckland

A show not to be missed

Cirque Du Soleil is an amazing show and it has been dazzling people world wide. Cirque Du soleil varekai is now in Auckland for everybody to enjoy.

Verekai is the story of the universal wonderer and is set in the mysterious forest of fantastical creatures. Varekai is a must see show.

It is being performed at the ASB showgrounds from January 5th till the 18th of February. Tickets are avaliable through ticketek.

Gulf Harbour

Gulf Harbour is Located 45 minutes north of Auckland City. It is a beautiful place to go to, there is a great golf course there where some international tournaments have been played.

This is the Gulf Harbour Basin. Events have taken place here, such as carols by candle light, and much more. In the background there are apartment buildings with great views.

Hibiscus Coast Beaches

Army Bay Beach

Army Bay beach is located right across the road from Shakespear Regional park on the Hibiscus Coast just 45 minutes out of Auckland city. This is another great beach to visit.

At this Beach there is some grass areas to sit on as well as soft sand. There are also quite a few trees to sit under if you would like to get out of the sun’s harmful rays.

This beach is quite calm, so it is a great place to kayak and have fun in the water. There is also stair access down to this beach for easier access up and down. There is also a car park facing the beach so there is hardly any walking from your car to the beach.

Beer Festival

New Zealand Beer Festival

New Zealand’s very first beer festival is being held on the 24th of March 2007. It is held at the Ellerslie race course.

The Festival will feature more than 20 breweries and 45 beers, with the beers will mostly being from New Zealand.

Live Bands will be playing throughout the day to add to the atmosphere. There will also be a diverse range of food available to compliment the beer.

It will be a great event so go along and have a beer and enjoy the day

‘07 Auckland Heineken Open

The Heineken Tennis open in Auckland kicks off this week (January 8-13). It is looking to be a very good week for tennis in Auckland as there is for the first time two players ranked inside the top 10 competing. There are also 16 players ranked inside the top 50 as well.

World number 7 Tommy Robredo is competing as well as the 2006 Heineken open finalist Mario Ancic. Other players include; Dominik Hrbaty, David Ferrer and Jarkko Nieminem.

Games are being played at the ASB Tennis centre and tickets are available through ticketek and the ASB ticket centre.
