Rangitoto Island, Auckland New Zealand

Rangitoto Island.

Rangitoto Island
Look carefully and you’ll see the lighthouse.

This picture was taken from the Rangitoto channel, between Takapuna beach and Rangitoto.

There’s nothing like sitting out on the water a few hundred metres from the light house fishing for snapper.

Here’s a pic looking back toward the North Shore. (Not too bad for a phone camera, huh?)

Hibiscus Coast Beaches

Army Bay Beach

Army Bay beach is located right across the road from Shakespear Regional park on the Hibiscus Coast just 45 minutes out of Auckland city. This is another great beach to visit.

Army Bay

At this Beach there is some grass areas to sit on as well as soft sand. There are also quite a few trees to sit under if you would like to get out of the sun’s harmful rays.

Army Bay

This beach is quite calm, so it is a great place to kayak and have fun in the water. There is also stair access down to this beach for easier access up and down. There is also a car park facing the beach so there is hardly any walking from your car to the beach.
